Smith Fig Tree

The Smith Fig is one of the best figs you can get your hands on here in the USA.  It  was discovered in Louisiana, is a fantastic variety for the south as it is resistant to splitting in humidity and rain.  It has beautiful green skin that can darken in the sun and create multi tones with a bright red interior.  It has rich sweet flavors of strawberry with honey sweetness.  It is one of my top varieties I grow.  It does like to be a little more established before going into the ground as it can be sensitive to colder temperatures - so northern growers may want to keep this one in a container or well wrapped.   is a wonderful sweet variety that does well here in the southeast.  Truly a top tier fig. This fig my have lineage with similar figs like Cessac and Texas BA-1
